Israel Day - For Chinese employees of Israeli companies

Friday, January 7th, 16:00.

Year 2011 started magically for the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Beijing.

On January 7th, we hosted Chinese employees who work for Israeli companies throughout China for an exciting event known as the "Israel Day". The goal was to give the (over 75) attendees information regarding Israel and the China-Israel relationship. We also aimed to encourage them to visit Israel.

Mr. Iddo Moed, the Israeli Embassy’s Deputy Chief of mission, educated the attendees about the China-Israeli connection. In addition, a 30-minute movie was shown, which was an introduction to the 12 episode series titled “Walk into Israel - A Land of Milk & Honey”.  This movie is a mutual production of the Israeli Embassy and the CCTV, in which the story of the Jewish nation from ancient time to the present days is told, dealing with its different aspects such as history, modern times, technology and innovation and more.

Following the movie, Mrs. Wang Xiaoyun - the Vice-Director of Regional Culture Research Institute in Beijing University, shared her own personal experience from her visit to Israel. The event was then sealed with information about the itinerary of the planned trip to Israel.

The event was a fruitful collaboration with EL-AL, the Israeli Airline Company, and Culture Scapes, an Israeli traveling company. Mrs. Hellen Huang from EL-AL and Mr. Uri Tirosh from Culture Scapes joined forces to offer the attendees an outstanding opportunity to visit Israel for an exceptionally reduced price. We are delighted to say that this offer drove much interest from both the employees as well as the employers. (Note, that we have decided to open up another group trip February 15th – details below).

This event was the opening of 2011 for the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Beijing. We are proud to say that amongst other sectors, the Chinese nation tourism to Israel is one of our main objectives for the upcoming year. We see ourselves, and the Chinese employees for Israeli companies, as ambassadors of good will for the country of Israel and we look forward to further expand our initiatives in the near future.

The Israeli Water Forum

IsCham Beijing established lately the Israeli water forum in order to provide specific and tailor-made services to this group of companies.
By understanding the needs of those companies we wish to brand and promote Israeli water advantages in the Chinese market. Over 15 companies are involved in this forum, and requests and suggestions brought up in those meetings are coming into actual action items.
